Exploring Dubrovnik Part 1

Dubrovnik is one of the top international tourist destinations of Dalmatia.   It is renowned for the beauty of its monuments, its magnificent walls and welcoming atmosphere.  These pictures below show what Dubrovnik looks like as we are driving toward to town.

This is St. Blaise.  He is the patron saint of Dubrovnik.  He is in the niche above the Pile Gate.  This is the main entrance to the old city.

This is Orlando's Column.  It was the measurement for Dubrovnik.  It is the length of Orlando's elbow which is 51 cm.
This was a man dressed up as a Patron Saint.  Paula just had to have her picture with him.  Dad called him Angel Moroni.
This is the Small Onofrio's Fountain.  People are filling their water bottles with the water.  This dates back to the 15 Century.
