Sunday - A Day of Family Surprises! Part 1

Today was an amazing day.  We began the day by attending church at the Zagreb Branch.  Lidija had told the members we were coming so when we arrived we had a very warm welcome.  Everyone knew who we were and that Ryan was coming to Croatia at the end of the month.  We met the Missision President and learned where Ryan would be and who his first companion would be.  All the elders and sisters gathered around us and talked about Ryan and the mission.  They knew all about Ryan.  It was crazy fun!  (It made this mother feel much better about having her son here for 2 years.)  The Mission President and his wife spoke at church because this was going to be their last Sunday before he goes home.  It was a great meeting and we were very blessed to be there.  They had a new member comfirmed and her name is Maria.  She helped translate the scriptures into English.  They had good attendance at church with around 60 people there.  They have 10 missionaries in Zagreb right now and we had a chance to visit with all of them.  We met outside the church to take a picture of everyone and, as you can see, it was like herding cats.

Oh, we are not ready yet.

Still not ready!

This is as good as it is going to get!

After church we set out to find our family.  We began our search by driving to Lukovdol.  It is in the highland area and if about an hour drive from Zagreb.  These are some pictures of the country side as we drove to Lukovdol.  It is very beautiful, green, lots of trees and moving from rolling hills to the mountains.
